can you give me a rough estimate of how much the whole process (including the price of the E30) would cost?

I'm not going to give you the price of the car, but here are some bits.

1. 2.5% duty on purchase price payable to Uncle Sam on arrival

2. $2000 for transport from Southampton to Galveston (roll on, roll off)

3. $500 for customs broker in US.

4. $800 marine insurance through Hagerty

5. Local registration / tax varies per your city.

6. $500 for a very through PPI in UK

These are all off the top of my head, and you have to have a reserve for surprise costs, which pop up. Exchange rates got me more than once where shipping was supposed to be $1600 but exchange rates and wire fees pushed it up. :(

In the end it's all going to be worth it!

Nice!! This has got to be the most epic/exciting package tracking ever. So how long till you actually get to drive it around?

All together do you think it would be cheaper than buying a comparable E30 already in the states?

No, but this being an EVO II isn't an E30 that you could get in the states, this was never sold here. If you are looking for a US spec car you can still do OK with a sharp eye, quick relfexes, and patience.

Possibly by the end of the week! But really I have to keep a good supply of Quaaludes on hand because there has been a LOT of waiting involved.

Wrong-hand-drive. Car is coming from the UK, no?

They never made an E30 M3 in RHD, all are LHD from the factory, as is this one. Some converted to RHD post purchase, but those are pretty rare and the value is probably affected.

Optical tricks. Upon close inspection, what I thought was the dash is the door panel. My apologies!
